I first went to Morocco as a Peace Corps Volunteer in from 1988 to 1990, where I received a warm welcome as a high school English teacher in the village of Outat El Haj.

Over the summer, I escaped the desert to work at an orphanage in Casablanca.

I attribute my enduring love for Morocco and its people to the two years I spent there, and the many I have spent learning more about the country since. Some years ago, I launched an experiment to see if I could follow Moroccan affairs from the United States, with indifferent success. The result was thé à la menthe.
